Trousers: The Cords Co., Jumper: Bella Freud, Shoes: Nicholas Kirkwood, Basket bag: Ebay
I am a long standing fan of corduroy so it's no surprise that I am overjoyed it's everywhere this season! Cord trousers, cord dungas, cord skirts, cord jackets - you name it, it's available at ease. From falling head over heels for a pair of pink cord trews (well, in my dreams i wanted the Isabel Marant ones, however in reality I had to settle on the Mango alternatives - still dreamy tbf), to unable to go on in life without a chestnut brown corduroy blazer that makes me resemble Wes Anderson, I simply cannot get enough of this controversial Seventies fabric.
No surprise then, at my excitement when new cord on the block (see what i did there?) The Cords & Co. asked me if I'd like to take a peek around their new Soho store and pick out my favourite pair. So many options - cropped, skinny, kick flare, wide, dungarees, jackets - who knew velvet's ribbed cousin could hold it's own and have a whole brand dedicated to it?! A shop full of absolute cordu-joy - it's undoubtedly a yes from me. After much deliberation I chose the Lea in white (I really wanted the Ochre colour tbh, however apparently they're like gold dust in the UK...) and I absolutely love the wide leg fit of these. There's just something really nice and nostalgic about cord - it's laid back, versatile, slightly geeky and without a shadow of a doubt, solidly Seventies. So thank you The Cords - let the revival commence.
