Velvet wrap top: New Look, Gold Cami top: Vintage (used to be my Mama's!), Jeans: Vintage Levi's, Boots: Mango, Beret: Vintage and Bag: Mansur Gavriel
It’s that time of year again - mulled wine, mince pies, Mariah and yep you guessed it - party dressing! Festive season is almost upon us and I for one I’m pretty happy about that. Hello sparkles, metallic, stars and velvet – four of my faves right there. When I say party dressing though, that doesn’t always need to be all about mini dresses, killer heels and three layers of eyeshadow. A bit of velvet thrown on with your fave jeans and a slick of red lippy and voila – you can be just as party ready in my book. Don’t get me wrong I love a party dress as much as the next gal and once in a while it can be nice to get dolled up, but sometimes it’s nice to dress up without actually ‘dressing up’ too much y’ know? To look like you didn’t put too much effort in and well, to not actually have to put too much effort in either…
I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions just how much I bloody love velvet so pairing my dream velvet celestial boots with this super cute wrap top (it’s actually apparently pyjama’s but in my book far too good to be worn inside only…) was a festive dressing no-brainer. As a hat enthusiast I also happen to think a beret can absolutely be sported with an evening look and since it’s a ridiculous 4 degrees in London currently, and you lose 70% of your body heat through your head (I mean don’t take this as gospel but I swear it’s something in the region of...) it’s possibly one of my best ideas yet to finish off this ensemble. I would wear this whole look come day or night to be honest, but I think it works as a perfect festive look for drinks or dinner - never underestimate the power of jeans, a nice top and a red lip!
