Boots: Eytys via Matches, Jacket: H&M, Skirt: New Look, Jumper: Alexander Wang, Bag: Mansur Gavriel, Beret: Vintage
Yesterday I had a lovely little catch up with Amber-Rose and she took some beaut snaps that I love, featuring my new boots that I'm a bit obsessed with. I have had my eye on these clodhoppers for so long, um-ing and ah-ing on whether to get them, searching for the best deal (obvs) and then they sold out in my size on both Matches and the Eytys website so I had resided myself to the fact that we weren't meant to be. But then, I spied them back in stock in a size 6 on Matches and well, that sealed the deal and I couldn't quite type my card deets in quick enough.
I have been after a pair of fugly (fucking ugly for those of you that have better taste in films than me..) boots for a while now, originally hiking/ snow-esque types were on the cards but after spotting these (slightly emo) chunks a while back I haven't stopped thinking about them and none others have really quite had the same effect on me (apart from these See by Chloe numbers which I also am a bit in love with). I am a massive fan of the colour of these - a chestnut brown if you will - and the fact that they're suede make a nice change for me too (however if you're more of a classic Cath then they also come in black leather). Yesterday was their first outing (it was drizzling a bit, great move by me having not spray protected them yet...) but they were absolutely fine and have escaped the great British weather unscathed. Initially I had only really imagined them with a jean (all I ever seem to be wearing atm) but thought I'd try pairing them with a skirt and tights and well, its a yes from me. I love the colours and textures in this outfit, it's a bit rogue librarian-meets crazy art teacher-meets emo old man and I am a-ok with that! So, safe to say they go with anything and everything. I think they'll be a great juxtaposition with bare legs and floaty mini dresses in summer too.
All in all I bloody love them but the only slight downside I have is that they are a tonne weight and take a bit of getting used to walking in them! But hey, a shoes that gives you a work out whilst walking just means less time you need to spend in the gym right?! Turns out they are also gonna take a bit of wearing it too I think as I wore them again today and they ripped my feet to shreds. It's fine, I still love you....
