Shirt: Paul Smith (Men's), Jeans: H&M, Bag, shoes and belt: Vintage, Sunglasses: RayBan via ASOS
I recently got this shirt Kindly gifted from Paul Smith (I chose it myself) and I've worn it so many times already in so many different ways that I thought I'd share with you two very different looks I've created with it as you know I'm all about the transitional and versatile pieces!
First up, I've styled it as a shirt with jeans; adding these vintage lady-like accessories and some red lippy to make it a more smart/ dressy look. Although it's quite a casual and masculine shirt, I think tucking it into high waisted jeans and adding some feminine accessories really takes the edge off and turns it into a more girly ensemble. I rolled up the sleeves to balance it out and and make it look a little less swamping too. I'd wear this day or night but must say with the addition of the Rayban's all I'm thinking is it's the perfect get-up for a Summer eve in a beer garden!
For the second look I decided to take it down a notch and opt for a casual, laid-back Summer look wearing it open as a jacket over this check mini dress - the colour matching is really satisfying me! As the dress is quite short and fitted I decided to add my cream converse and a tote in order to make it a more relaxed day time look. I really like the juxtaposition of the masculine oversized shirt against the feminine mini dress and think it makes the outfit look quite thrown-on which is always a yes from me.
Shirt (again): Paul Smith (men's), Dress: Nobody's child, Sunglasses: Joanie Clothing, Trainers: Converse, Tote bag: Realisation Par, Belt: Vintage
As I said I've worn this Paul Smith shacket (HATE that word) so much already in different ways but thought i'd share two quite contrasting options with you here to show how versatile an oversized/ boyfriend shirt can be. I'm sure you all have one knocking about in your wardrobe or, falling that, can pinch one from your BF/ Dad/ Brother to get styling up!
I'm going to make this into a regular feature where I show you two different ways to style a versatile piece so I hope you've enjoyed it and do let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see styled in different ways!
