Last weekend my fellow blogger pal Paige and I jetted off to Ibiza for four days of relaxation in the sunshine and I feel like I should have been there before now in my 28 years, but it was in fact my first time visiting the white isle. After having thought in the past it was solely for clubbing purposes and 'not my vibe' I couldn't have been more wrong. It really is a beautiful island with something for everyone - families, friends, couples, party animals, explorers or laidback larrys (?) - I challenge you not to have a good time.
We got a super early morning flight so arrived with a full day ahead. We began exploring the immediate area near out hotel - we stayed in the old town near Figueritas beach in a place called Tropical Garden which was a spot on location. We were a stones throw from the beach where there were also lots of bars, cafes and restaurants along the way - a personal fave called Fusion that we ate in twice! We spent the morning relaxing on the beach before we are able to check in and get sorted. On the first evening we headed into the old town and had dinner at a tapas place called La Bodega that was recommended to me. We ordered far too much along with some sangria and it was delicious, I'd 100% recommend to you all to go should you find yourself in Ibiza town! To finish off we headed into D'alt Vila to get ourselves some ice cream from the highly reccomended Barocco and it was a taste sensation - I had hazelnut and it was basically Fererro Rocher in ice cream format - yes, yes, yes and yes!
On day two we headed to Talamanca beach and popped into the pink paradise that is Bikini by Cathy Guetta - a recommendation from the lovely Belle and Bunty - and it couldn't have been anymore OOT and kitsch. From pulling up in the cab to pink vespas and flamingos everywhere, to stepping inside to flamingo inflatables, giant lollipops and more pink than you can shake a stick at, it looked like what I can only describe as the home of Barbie. If you're a pink and palm tree lover, then this is the place for you. The cocktails were really yummy too and not too expenny either which is always good. Afterwards we walked along the beach and spent the rest of the day sunbathing with a spot of late lunch at a really cute beach cafe called Bellamar where I had an amazing buratta (mozzarella's creamier cousin if you're not aware) salad. That evening we jumped in a cab to San Antonio on the other side of the island because one of my lovely followers had messaged me about a place that I absolutely had to check out. I mean, she was 100% correct as it was probably one of my highlights of the trip - ladies and gents - Cubanito. An amazing hotel that was basically Wes Anderson meets Havana. We were totally obsessed and arrived at the rooftop bar just in time for sunset which was just beautiful. I would love love love to actually stay there next time!
On our third day we decided to take a boat trip out to a nearby island - Formentera - which is basically like Barbados (I mean, i've never been but i'm assuming...) in the middle of Spain. The beaches were insanely beautiful and we spent the day swimming in the turquoise sea, having a photoshoot (obviously), drinking cocktails in beach bars and exploring the little markets in the town. It's pretty cheap to get a boat trip over there too - we only paid about 25 euros for a round trip. What a day! In the evening we headed into Ibiza old town and met up with one of my pals who was also there for a drink before having a lovely meal in Sa Rosada in the D'alt Villa. After dins we wanted to explore the shops a bit and found some really cool boutiques. Annie's in D'Alt Vila is amazing - a party vibe with some gorgeous vintage bits and they also stock Rixo too! Barbara Bonner was another shop we fell in love with - so many amazing pieces from Seafarer wide leg jeans to Kate Moss in the nineties silky midi slip dresses and all of the shell accessories too. The owner also stocks her own line of bags too. Paige invested in a little shell necklace and I fell in love with a vintage basket bag (shock) that I really had to restrain myself from buying. Lastly we found a lovely little store opposite BB's temple called Isla Ibiza Bonita and it was again full of gems - they stock one of my current fave brands Wald Berlin and had so many lovely straw accessories too!
Our final day was for packing in as much last minute things as possible before to night flight home and we had another wander around the old town and went to The Croissant Show which is like a Parisian French cafe in the middle of ibiza - right up my street! It was super yummy and would defo recommend their crepes!
We had a to do list as long as both of my legs stacked (I'm 5ft 11 for reference..) and managed to tick off a hefty amount but there was still so much more we couldn't squeeze in so a trip back is most definitely in order! Ibiza you have my heart!
