So I'm sure you're all aware if you follow me on instagram (because I couldn't stop sharing pics lol) that I've just come home from a little break in Crete, staying at the wonderful Stella Island Resort and what a treat it was!
So we stayed for 4 days/ nights all inclusive and it's not usually my kind of holiday as I like to explore/ see/ do but this time round we just wanted something super chilled (and a bit luxe) and weren't bothered about doing much for once, so it was perfect. When you arrive at the hotel they ask you to download their app and everything is done via that - so check in, booking into the a la carte restaurants, activities on offer, service info any other information you may need. They are a cashless resort too which is great so if you'd like to purchase anything you just use your room card and it's all added that way and settled when you check out.
Getting there
We flew into Heraklion Airport which is about a 20 minute taxi ride away from Stella Island so not far at all. The whole journey was really smooth and felt safe, and wearing a mask was required throughout.
Accommodation
We stayed in a Premium Swim Up room and it was really lovely. Being able to access the pool straight from your balcony is perfect and the room itself was very light and spacious too with a massive comfy bed! Our room was around the middle of the scale so you can get more standard pool view rooms or you can opt for an over water bungalow with hammock and Jacuzzi which looked incredible!
Facilities
Everything you need is on site and so I would personally recommend to do this as an all inclusive holiday, however you can do half board or just bed and breakfast too if you'd rather. They have many outdoor pools as well as an indoor pool and spa, a gym, six varied restaurants, four bars and evening entertainment. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you which was lovely and we felt really well looked after throughout our stay.
The Area
I'll be honest we didn't venture out much but the resort is super close to the beach so we popped down there a few times. I absolutely love the sea so it was so nice to have a little dip and there are areas with beds for hire too if you'd like to spend a little longer down there. There's also a sizeable shop by the beach which sells everything from beers to lilo's and clothes - and I got a really cute shell dish from there too!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Stella Island and I really cant reccomend it enough! We already want to go back!
If I've missed anything or there is anything else you'd like to know please just drop me a message and I'll do my best to help :)
